The course examines the emergence process of public relations endeavors and the fundamental theories and principles, related to this discipline. Understanding of how the industry functions in public relations campaigns and programs, as well as their social impact and strategic planning processes are aimed.

This course will examine the history, function, societal and economic dimensions of advertising and mainly consider its relations with the fields of marketing, psychology and communication. Students will also learn about the process of an advertising campaign, which ranges from the assessment of customer needs as the first step to designing, preparing and implementing a project.

Concepts concerning brands, brand image and its creation, brand communication fields such as sales development, purchasing point communications, direct marketing, public relations, advertising and sponsorship, branding strategies, consumer behavior oriented brand communications, symbolic and functional brands and relevant brand communications, new media and brand communications.

The definition of law, necessity of the law, social regulatory rules that govern social life, relations and differences between the law and other social order rules, criteria in distinguishing public and private law, equality, party criteria, branches of public law, definition of laws, passing, effectuation and characteristics of laws.

Visual language in effective communication, principles used in visual production and arranging in advertising, promotions and public relations, introduction to techniques, ideography, color, line, print, voice, special effects, talk shows.

This course aims to relay information to students regarding media research, planning and purchasing. Main processes of target group analysis, research tools for media audience and purchasing techniques, as well as public relations/advertising agencies, clients/advertisers and media relations are taught.

This course includes introduction to consumer behavior, marketing and consumer behavior, psychological factors in consumer behavior (perception and sense, learning and memory, motivation and involvement, attitudes and feelings, personality and self, values and lifestyle), socio-cultural factors in consumer behavior (groups and reference groups, family, personal impacts and the spreading of novelties, social class, culture), consumer purchasing process (identifying the problem), consumer purchasing process (searching for information and evaluation of options), consumer purchasing process (purchasing), consumer purchasing process (aftersales behavior), marketing communications and persuasion techniques.

Changing understanding of creativity, brand, product, general techniques and rules on service production, differences and prominent features of successful advertisements. Creative texts, slogans and graphic design characteristics.

 

Fundamental notions concerning communication and narration, ways of writing an influential text, copywriting in public relations and relevant expectations, text types used in public relations: news article, press release, press article, interview, newsletters, brochures, flyers, invitations, direct mailing, newspapers-magazines, booklets, annual reports, corporate promotions.

This course covers steps of a campaign, including research methods, strategic planning, risk management during planning and the correct evaluation of budget in detail.

Advertising campaigns, what they are and how they are prepared, identification of advertising strategies, creative works as per the strategy, forming creative ideas, rules of writing advertising slogans, preparing print and TV copies and writing texts, above-the-line and below-the-line advertising copies

This course provides an introduction to the English language and aims to help the students to develop a basic level of competence in communicating in this language. It is intended that students who have taken this course will be able to communicate at a very basic level using written and oral English in everyday and business life.

Students in this program complete an internship at either a public or private institution to have practical knowledge of the courses they have learned over two years. Following the internship, they prepare an Internship Notebook and Internship Report and submit them, including their performance evaluations from the relevant workplaces.

Students will prepare a project about the subject they have chosen by conducting a study which possesses all the qualities of a scientific project and will support the theoretical knowledge they have gathered with their research findings and practices.

Bu derste, empati ve dinleme gibi etkili iletişim becerileri, sözlü ve sözsüz iletişim unsurları, sunum ve söyleşi kavramları, sözlü ve sözsüz iletişim ögeleri, etkili bir sunum hazırlamak ve söyleşi gerçekleştirmek için gerekli bilgilerin hazırlık aşamaları ve iletişim engelleri ele alınacaktır.

 

 

Bu ders kapsamında kriz yönetimi, iletişim ve iletişimi yönetme işini üstlenen halkla ilişkiler perspektifinden ele alınmaktadır. Dönem boyunca iki geniş konu ele alınacaktır. Birincisi, kriz süreci, kriz sürecinde strateji, modeller ve yaklaşımlar, araştırma ve değerlendirmenin rolü ve önemini öğrencektir. Diğer ana konu kapsamında ise halkla ilişkiler İtibar yönetimi, kurumsal iletişim, sorun yönetimi, sosyal sorumluluk, medya ilişkileri gibi halkla ilişkiler uygulama alanları ile kriz yönetiminin ilişkisi incelenecektir. Ayrıca ders kapsamında örnekler üzerinden kriz yönetimi süreçleri değerlendirilecektir.
