In this course, historical background, subject and areas of social work will be introduced and how to intervene in the problems will be discussed with the approaches developed by social work.

Social Politics class includes; how social politics discipline emerged, its subject, its historical development in the World and in Turkey, its goals, instruments, its meaning according to social service and the historical background of the relationship between social service and social politics. It also informs about the groups that are accepted as disadvantaged like poor, handicapped, elder people, women and children and examines the social politics cultivated intended for these topics.

In this course, the topics covered by sociology as a discipline, the development of sociological thinking, the subject of sociology and its limitations will be discussed. The reasons of different approaches in sociology, the analysis of sociological basic concepts and processes, the history of the development of sociology, the main topics to be covered throughout the period.
